PSION FORCE

While trying to figure out what to do with my open source character, shaper, it hit me.  Why not make a Mutant and Masterminds supplement of a Super Hero team based on the four classes in the Expanded Psionics Handbook, and also the six disciplines?

Meet . . .

PSION FORCE!

This is a team of nine members, all who are students who attended the same Wealth Building seminar.  Each specializing in one of the six disciplines of Psionics, and three others specializing in other areas.  The team's powers come from the same source -- their indomitable belief in the Potential of the Human Spirit.  All of them received their powers after a dream that they had.

The Shaper -- Role: The Driving Force, discipline: Metacreativity.  The Shaper has psionic powers that is comparable to Green Lantern's.  The shaper can make constructs out of Matter and Energy.  The Energy he uses to shape his constructs is Zero Point Energy.  Sex: Male.  Religion: Spiritual Christian.

The Kineticist -- Role: Raw Energy Blaster.  Discipline: Psychokinesis.  The Kineticist's powers has to do with energy.  He can't shape energy, but he can project it, move objects in space with his mind, cause explosions of energy psionically, that sort of thing.  Powers are like Phoenix of the X-Men, or Marvel Boy of the Avengers.  Sex: Male.  Religion: Hare Krishna.

The Seer: -- Role: Guidance, Discipline: Clairvoyance.  A jewish radical activist for Woman's Rights, this woman had spent her energy fighting the patriarchy.  She visited the wealth builder conference, and in her dream that night she learned of her true calling.  To help guide people to spirituality and better choices.  Her powers include clairvoyant powers.  She is the sibyl of the team.  Sex: female.  Religion: Judaism.

The Egoist. Role: Strong Guy.  Discipline: Psychometabolism. A body building nurse, this Egoist always wanted to help people.  After the Wealth Building seminar, he had a dream and gained psionic healing powers as well as powers that augment his physical attributes.  He can also psionically -- and physically -- fuse with another to form a dynamic fighting powerhouse.  Sex: male, Religion: Protestant Christian.

The Nomad.  Fast hero.  Discipline: Psychoportation.  Once a world renowned Athlete, this young woman had her day when she ran for the 2008 Olympics.  She earned a silver medal for running the 500 yard Dash for the United States.  Hard on her luck, she attended the Wealth Building Conference.   She gained psionic powers of teleportation and movement (moving things bypassing space).  Sex: female, Religion: Buddhist.

The Telepath. Director.  Discipline: Telepathy.  Once a psycho-analyst, this telepath had a successful practice as a psychiatrist.  He attended the wealth building seminar out of curiosity.   After all, all he believed in was tangible results and reason.  However, in a dream that night, he had his disbelief severely challenged when he received the powers of Telepathy.  Sex: male, religion: Atheist.

The Psychic Warrior.  Weapon Specialist.  A marine, his family fell on hard times after he came back from two tours in Afganistan.  He left the army and sought to start a business starting a firing range.  He went to the Wealth Building seminar for ideas on how to build wealth.  That night, he gained a host of psychic powers.  Sex: male, Religion: Protestant Christian.

The Soulknife.  Assassin.  A woman trained as a CIA assassin, this woman joined the Wealth Building seminar to spy on the speaker to get a line on the head of the business.  When she woke up the next morning, she could form a weapon that is the distillation of her own mind. Sex: female, Religion: None.

The Wilder: Uncontrolled woman.  A black woman, this girl has emotional outbursts and a troubled marriage back home.  She joined the wealth builder seminar because she was seeking a divorce from her alcoholic husband.  The next morning, she gained psychic powers.  However, some of her powers are connected to her emotions.  Sex: female, Religion: Wiccan (Egyptian Mythos -- worships Sehkmet).

Okay, that's all I got for the team right now.  Since I got DC Adventures to make this team, expect the Default team to reside in a DC Universe.  The Team is open sourced, however, and can reside in any Superhero universe -- DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Image, any of them.  I'll be building a document with them empowered over the weekend. :)

Steal this Superhero!!!

Okay normally I wouldn't do anything on this part, but . . . if you need a Superhero NPC for a Supers Campaign (and who doesn't), I present Ammon.  Use this guy sparingly by the way.  He's an NPC, there to be used as a plot device or as a source of inspiration for a set of low level heroes.

AMMON

Oh my King, said the royal sorcerer to Ramses the Great (Ramses the First), you and your descendants will be endowed by the God Amun-Re with the powers to control the elements.  You will soar as Horus the falcon soars and command the elements of earth, wind, water, and fire.

Thousands of years later, the amulet of Ramses the Great was found.  The great grandson of the Egyptologist that found it had strange dreams, dreams of his better self.  He then took the amulet and was transformed into Ammon.  As the descendant of King Ramses, young Drake Garion is heir to the power of Amun-Re.

 Powers:
Ammon is a Superman Analog that resembles the Silver Age.  He has the following powers:

* Flight.  Ammon is capable of flight.  He can propel himself to nearly ultimate speed.

* Strength.  Ammon has seemingly Superhuman Strength.

* Invulnerability. Ammon is seemingly invulnerable.

* Reality Bending Powers.   Ammon is able to bend reality to his will.  This power allows him to have his seemingly Super-human Strength, Flight, and Invulnerability.

* Weakness.  Without the Wadjet-Eye Amulet, young Drake Garion cannot become Ammon.  Likewise, without the Amulet, Ammon cannot become Drake Garion.

Costume: Ammon appears regally in a gold and white outfit reminescent of an Egyptian pharoah. The costume is mainly white with gold trim.  His hair is mid neck length, is dark brown or black, and his eyes lined with black ochre.  Ammon's face is also handsome.  He carries the Wadjet-Eye around his neck.  His body is royally handsome.

Template: Ammon is a Superman analog.  He should be played as a Silver Age Hero (1955-1979).  He doesn't have the ability to shoot laser beams, or have super breath.  But he uses his powers to fight for Truth and Justice.  In reality, he is the ideal Pharaoh reborn.

Anubis, Dossier

Anubis by ~Atlantean6 on deviantART
Real Name: Raymond Drake
Identity: Secret.
Occupation: High School Student, part time adventurer
Citizenship: U.S. Citizen
Place of Birth: Bakersfield, California
Known Relatives: Raymond Drake I (father), Margaret Pickett (mother), Sir Van Drake (Great Grandfather -- Deceased)
Height: 5'6"
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Dark Brown
Powers: Because of a mystical curse that Sir Van Drake got while adventuring and digging in Egypt some one hundred and twenty years ago. Raymond can transform into a Lycanthrope called a werejackal. His wereform allows him increased strength, better reflexes, and slightly better speed. The curse, called the Curse of Anubis, was placed on that particular branch of the Drake family because Sir Van Drake managed to loot the tomb of a Egyptian Pharaoh on an archaeological dig. The Pharaoh was protected by the Curse, which will transform whoever would loot his tomb into a werejackal -- one of the servants of Anubis. The curse is meant to travel through the generations until one of his descendants manages to redeem the family name in some way.

As a lycanthrope, Anubis is hard to kill except to silver. He can take wounds that would kill a man, but silver is deadly to him.
Paraphernalia: Drake uses two khopeshes (curved Egyptian swords) in his quest for justice. He also has two bracers made of bronze that act as moonlight collectors, which will allow him to transform to Anubis when he likes.

In the 1880s, when the science of Archaeology was still being developed, Van Drake became fascinated by the ancient Pharoahs. The dilettante studied Archeaology and became an Egyptologist in Oxford before traveling to Egypt. The new archaeologist got a job cataloging relics for the University in Cairo. Two years after, the young archeologist managed to finance his own dig for the Pharoah Amenhotep III. However, when he recovered the relics he had become a victim of the curse of Anubis.

The curse was that he'd become a werejackal during the light of the full moon, one of Anubis minions, until he could redeem himself. Sir Van Drake never did redeem himself or his family. Twenty years after, becoming the beast during the light of the full moon he brutally killed his wife and escaped into the countryside. He was eventually hunted down by hunters and shot and killed by taking three silver bullets in his heart. Because he didn't redeem himself, the curse passed through his family for the next twenty generations.

However, as the curse spread and diluted through the Drake family, the werejackals in the family became less and less feral until the fifth generation when they can fully speak. However, Raymond is the next Drake the curse has come to. Born in California, Raymond's family moved to Utah after they sold their home. It was during his teenaged years that Raymond figured out that he was different. In sixth grade, he became attracted to another boy. However, a gay teen growing up in Salt Lake he had to hide his feelings.

Now, at fifteen, he goes to West High School. He managed to keep his orientation a secret. It was also at 15 that the curse came fully upon him, surprising his father by turning into a werejackal. Also, Drake suddenly knew that he had control over his faculties as a Werejackal. He talked in English perfectly, even if his voice was deeper.

The turning point came when his sister was kidnapped by a werewolf. Not knowing who to turn to, Drake turned to Michael for help. The two confronted the werewolf and managed to defeat him. In the conversation that followed the fight where Michael rescued his sister, Drake didn't know what to do. Michael suggested he'd become a superhero. So, with the help of another pack of werewolves, and taking the name Anubis upon himself, Drake became a warrior for justice in Salt Lake.

A homosexual superhero?

Because of my exposure to gay men on World of Warcraft, and attracting an admirer who is also gay; I am seriously of thinking of doing a gay superhero. Perhaps the second so conceived for an American audience -- as Stan Lee designed such a superhero before I did. Why do such a thing, you ask?

I think, as a Mormon man, I live in a culture that does think that homosexuality is wrong (in fact, it is, since the LDS religion is all about being or becoming a Creator). My take on homosexuality is, yes, it is wrong. But, the feelings that homosexuals have for each other are not wrong. I don't know what Mr. Lee is planning with his gay hero, but I hope to tone mine down in expressing his feelings.

In short, he won't be aggressive. He will show all the heroic attributes of a superhero, except he's a homosexual. He likes men more than he likes women and he sees men as romantic or sexual partners. But he isn't aggressive about it. He would be like Alele from the El Hazard: Wanderers T.V. show -- a passive gay who admires male beauty. "He's beautiful," he'd remark to himself. I do believe that American comics is ready for a homosexual character who is superheroic. Only in this case, he's a werewolf -- or in the case of Raymond Drake -- a werejackal. Being part animal does provide a problem, but since my hero does talk, he's a lot like the Astounding Wolf Man by Robert Kirkman. One problem is: what happens when Raymond Drake approaches the person he has feelings for? One of the best things about working with Image that I might be able to get away with an affectionate scene between the two of them (not full sex, but an affectionate scene).

Raymond Drake is loosely based on the young man behind the Blood Elf mage Reiadryn on WoW, the young man who has "fallen in love" with me. Which is something I don't fully understand why. Fortunately, I totally accept him. But I don't see a future with him.

Beware of PRIDE!

Pride Character Reference by ~Atlantean6 on deviantART

Be aware of Pride, the next supervillain to face our intrepid hero. Pride is from the People's Republic of China, and operates as an undercover agent for the Chinese Intelligence. Pride is infiltrating the criminal organization operating in the city where our hero operates. And both are on opposite sides of the Law.

Character Reference Sheets

I've done two character reference sheets. There should be one last one reserved for evil bad guys. I have four evil villains in mind for my character. I'm posting one of them, working on the other two, and the fourth has to wait until I can get the Freak 4 bundle (I also want The Freak, Herc is so cool looking!).

Shaper Reference Sheet by ~Atlantean6 on deviantART

First is the Shaper. You've seen his powers (his powers are actually based on the Law of Attraction). He's quite powerful. Second is Pyregon.

If you are wondering what this is all about, I told you. I'm thinking of doing a comic book. :)

Shaper: The Story

It came one Christmas Eve, at midnight, Central time. The missiles hit, coming from a global power. The missiles spread themselves, hitting many different cities in the USA and destroying them. Many missiles hit Boston, but one missed and exploded in Boston Bay, causing a giant tsunami that swamped the city.

In New York City, the missiles' intense heat melted the Empire State building and incinerated the Chrysler building. In Washington, DC., the Capitol building was shattered and parts of the White House was converted into rubble. The IRS building was ground zero for a missile and was left standing while everything around it was reduced to ashes.

Baltimore was reduced to ashes, and Langley, Virginia was utterly destroyed. Forty Seven major population centers, many military bases, were all destroyed in an all out nuclear attack. For instance, in the West, several dams were blown to nuclear dust: Glen Canyon Dam, Flaming Gorge Dam, and Hoover (or Boulder) Dam. The Colorado was set free, swallowing Los Angeles and creating a virtual island out of Baja California. Seven missiles hit Seattle-Tacoma, Washington; and the intense heat caused a Lahar -- a landslide of water, rock, and silt that swallowed the two cities completely up. Minnosota, Michigan, Illinois, and Missouri were so hard hit, that they became wastelands.

Salt Lake City, just days before, was in the heat of a civil religious war. The Mormons split themselves in a religious schism. The schism caused the population of the Salt Lake Valley to turn upon one another; never noticing that the Junior Apostles took the records south beyond the Colorado River. The streets ran red with blood and hate. Until five missiles fell upon the valley, ending the conflict by nuclear fiat.

In the chaos, several Superheroes were caught unawares. And they all . . . died. Except one.

The Shaper
The Shaper is a nuclear physicist who was working at the Superconducting Super Collider at Waxahachie, Texas. He and his family were vacationing in a remote part of Arizona when the bomb hit. The Bomb hit Phoenix, Arizona, so he and his family was forced to flee to Flagstaff, Arizona. When the Fallout from the Glen Canyon Dam came, the family hid in a community fallout shelter under the post office in Flagstaff.

Now, two years after, the University of Arizona State had been fully established in Flagstaff and the Shaper teaches nuclear physics there.

The Shaper in Flight

A thermonuclear war was perpetrated on the United States of America.

Superman is dead. . .
Batman is dead . . .
Captain America is dead . . .
The Punisher is dead . . .
The Watchmen are dead . . .
The Avengers are dead . . .

But the Shaper isn't.

The Shaper is America's last superhero. He is flying over the Minnesota Nuclear Wasteland in the portrait, the last surviving Superhero, he exists to dispense the justice of a beleaguered and shattered America.

Powers: Due to a hyperactive subconscious, the Shaper possesses the power to manipulate reality consciously. He has exhibited the following powers:
  • Flight: The shaper possesses the power to propel himself at nearly limitless speed (.10 c). Combined with levitation, this gives him the power to fly.
  • Psychokinetic Force Shield: The shaper can construct a psychokinetic particle force field to deflect alpha and beta particles, and gamma rays from his body while flying over the contaminated radiation zones of America (there are 47 of them).
  • Shaping: The Shaper can construct any physical object necessary out of invisible quantum objects in the Aether. Witches and Wizards call this "conjuration," the Shaper calls it "Shaping."
Weakness: There is no limit to what he's possibly capable of, but he is still mortal and can be destroyed. He's allergic to cats, tobacco smoke, and a rhinovirus infection ("common cold") makes him break out in a rash.

Personality: The Shaper is confident, he is also prone to anger, and have been known to attack his enemies with the slightest provocation. His cover is a simple nuclear physics teacher at one of the surviving Universities -- Arizona State University; relocated recently to a resettled Flagstaff, Arizona. In his cover, he looks his real age, 40ish. When he becomes the Shaper, he restores himself to a youthful and vital 20 years of age.

As a superhero, he serves the folk of the Fringe (Intermountain West Region), by scouring America for survivors in the lower Forty-Eight States and attacking their enemies. The end of the Age of Heroes came at Christmas, a while ago.

Strength Level: As a twenty-year old, the Shaper possesses the strength of one who does regular strength training. As a forty-year old nuclear physicist, he possesses the same strength level.

Shaper

Shaper is the male hero in my universe. I was going to design something more flashy, but since his ability is Metacreativity, shared by all humans, I'll keep him in normal clothes until at sometime I decide he needs a costume.

His power: Metacreativity, is the ability to create anything he desires from the Quantum Element, or quantum objects. His source of power is his own thoughts. Ultimately, it is also his weakness.

Thermal

Okay, I have decided on her look. So the meet the new Superheroine, Thermal.

Thermal

Universe
My Universe

Real Name:
Anne Chevelier

Thermokinesis (the control of Heat), heat projection, flight, fire creation

Origin:
Anne is from France, thus she is a citizen of France. But she's living in the United States of America. She got her powers from the backlash of a magic spell. She was hit by a magic fireball, but remarkably recovered. The spell's magic had subsumed into her being, giving her the powers to control heat (thermokinesis).

Designing a Superhero

I'm in the Superhero design business. Well, their suits, anyhow. Here is Thermal:

Thermal Suit 1

This is suit A.

Suit b.

Finally . . .

Alternate Costume c

Suit C.

All rendered in DAZ Studio. Her superpowers: I'm deciding between Thermokinesis (control of heat) and Pyrokinesis (control of fire). She can project fire from her hands, fly, and create fire. I don't have an origin story for her yet. Nor any RPG stats. If you want to use her for an RPG (Mutants and Masterminds, D&D 4.e, or any other heroic RPG), contact me first and we an work something out. :)
